Your wedding music should be entertaining and enjoyable for everyone at your Big Day. After all, you really want everyone to have tons of fun when celebrating your love story – and music will always be an important part in any wedding.
Yet, how do you make sure your wedding music is adequate for all of the guests at your wedding? How do you select songs that are perfect for your guests, regardless of how young or old they may be?
We have some ideas for you – so read on and find out more.
- The ceremony music. Of course, you will want to select songs that are meaningful for your relationship. However, if you feel that your parents or grandparents may feel odd with a very contemporary song, see if you cannot replace it with an instrumental version of the same tune. Likewise, you can turn an old song in a contemporary one by playing a modern cover of it.
- The reception music. In general, it is safe to stay away from anything your grandmother may find offensive (so no matter how much you like Kanye, you might want to keep it for the after-party). Furthermore, remember that the kids at the wedding should have fun too – so don’t forget to include songs that are suitable for them too.
- The DJ. We strongly encourage you to talk to your wedding DJ about the songs that will be played at your wedding. Experienced DJs are more than familiar with floor filling songs, so they will know how mix The Beatles, Beyoncé and just a bit of Roxette in their work at your wedding, so that everyone is happy with the songs played.
