Music is always amazing – even the least amazing songs are still pretty amazing in the way they manage to send across a message, enchant, and enjoy.
However, not all music is suitable for all moments of life – and thus, some songs may not be quite right for a wedding.
What are the songs you should avoid from playing during a wedding?
We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.
- Adele – Hello. It’s probably one of the most appreciated love songs created in the last decade – but it’s also one of the saddest, and the very theme of it (breakup) doesn’t fit into a wedding. If you are in love with Adele’s voice (rightfully so!), we recommend you to choose other songs she has created – although the vast majority are quite sad and linger in the same emotional spectrum as Hello, there are some that are more than OK for a wedding (Make You Feel My Love, for example).
- Los del Rio – Macarena. This is probably one of the most overplayed wedding songs ever – but not many people realize that its lyrics are definitely not OK for a wedding. More specifically, they speak about cheating – which is, surely, not a theme you want to bring into your Big day, right?
- Bon Jovi – You Give Love a Bad Name. Bon Jovi can definitely lift up your spirit, but this particular song is not a very good choice for a wedding, given its lyrics. If you want to hear some good, ol’ fashion rock from him on your Big Day, pick another tune – such as Bed of Roses, for example.
- Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man. Call it as you may, but Bruno can definitely make a room feel all energized and ready to dance. There’s something in his style that’s just impossible to resist! However, this particular song is, same as Adele’s, about breakup – so it’s not a very good choice for the Big Day. Instead, you could settle on something fun and ice-breaking, like Uptown Funk, or something sweet and romantic, like Just the Way You Are.
